Meet Our Team

I believe that the enemy does not want us to free people he has bound. I believe that God has given each of us gifts and asked that we be obedient to His calling and he places us where we can advance His Kingdom. It was recently brought to my attention that Jesus healed first, then saved and this quote resonates: “When I accepted God, I realized that he designed our bodies and minds for healing.” God ‘asks a lot of those who follow Him, but asks little of those who do not’. Finally, I believe that looking beyond the reality of today, to the story beyond, that there’s much to be accomplished and much to look forward to with each person this mission is able to help. Each survivor who is removed from the bond of their abusive experiences will have an exponentially positive impact on our earthly community and God’s heavenly kingdom.

What’s the Why?
My ‘Why’ is to serve God and to– in my small way, help survivors get the healing they deserve, and to feel the love of Christ in the process.

What’s the Why?
The Mustard Seed was born from both my personal story and a deep calling from the Lord. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I know the weight of carrying silent pain and the courage it takes to step into healing. But the mission is far bigger than my story. It is about offering hope and opportunity for the countless others who have not yet found their voice. Romans 12:21 says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” That verse anchors everything we do. At the Mustard Seed, we are creating space for survivors to be seen, to speak, and to begin healing in an environment that honors their story and their worth. I believe God is using every part of this mission to redeem what was once broken and to remind survivors that they are not alone. My why is to be part of that redemptive work, to help bring light, truth, and healing into places long hidden in silence.

What’s the Why?
My ‘Why’ is to serve God and this is where He needs me. Sexual abuse is one of the most traumatic experiences anyone can go through, it affects people every day, resulting in anxiety, depression, and it damages the heart, mind, and body. I am blessed to be chosen to serve at the Mustard Seed.

I’ve always been driven by purpose and a desire to serve God through my work. At 17, I started a resale business that grew into a way to support others—donating to 19 organizations before closing it for college.
College brought both growth and hardship, including serious health challenges and an unexpected job loss after graduation. During that time, I began freelance marketing—one of my first clients being The Mustard Seed, an organization I had long admired.
In a season of stillness, I felt God calling me back to Southern Indiana. After a brief time in a corporate role, that calling became clear when The Mustard Seed invited me to step into a leadership position.
I’m grateful every day for His guidance and the opportunity to serve a mission greater than myself.

What’s the Why?
I was a longtime Mustard Seed thrifter and when I saw they had job openings, I had to apply. I wanted to work for a faith-based company that had potential for growth, but also had a vision for the bigger picture. I have witnessed so many blessings at The Seed. People who have had nothing, are restored in the eyes of the Lord here at The Mustard Seed

What’s the Why?
God’s plans are bigger than mine! I was led to the Mustard Seed through a friend. Serving at the Mustard Seed is more than a paycheck, it’s being able to help the mission and serve God.

What’s the Why?
I started as a customer at The Mustard Seed after family and friends introduced me to it. I made a decision to seek employment here due to the wonderful atmosphere and friendly people. The mission here is very important and makes the job extremely rewarding. I can honestly say I love my job and everything it stands for.

What’s the Why?
What is my ‘Why?’ God, my future, and these two girls.

What’s the Why?
A few years ago a friend introduced me to this lovely store, it quickly became one of my favorite shopping places.
A while later the Lord opened the door for me to work there. Since working with them I have come to love not only the store but also the mission and the precious people running it.
Every day I strive, alongside the rest of them, to be a light for Jesus to those I come in contact with.

What’s the Why?
I believe I was called to serve at The Mustard Seed. The organizations we support are all important to me. By serving as a team member at The Seed I can help those organizations in a small way. I could never donate to all of them, but by my work here, I can give to each one. I get to indirectly reach each one in a small way.

What’s the Why?
My husband, David, and I have been married for 56 years. We have two children (one of which is Jennifer, the other manager) and five grandkids. We used to go to yard sales and flea markets, but not so much anymore (LOL)…
David and I were customers of the Mustard Seed. I came in to shop and asked if they were hiring, and they were. So I applied and joined the team. At first it was just a job and a paycheck, but then it quickly became a calling. After my first few days of work, a woman chose to share about her past abuse with me. She helped me realize that this is more than a job. I hope that my time with her helped and encouraged her– and I hope to help more people through my work at The Seed.

What’s the Why?
I serve at the Mustard Seed because I believe in their mission. I am amazed everyday by the work they do to help so many women and children.

Happy to be a part of such a great team!!
